BID Members Elected.
The election for members of the first ever Business Improvement District for the downtown area have been tallied and the results are in.
Roger Wade of Mattress direct was the top vote getter with 49 total votes and will represent property owners on the board along with Pam McAbee of Top Hat Formal wear.
Steve Atha of Jennings and Atha, CPA’s and George Pullen of Pullen’s Ordinary Bicycles will represent Business owners.
The Business Improvement District or “BID” is a 30 block downtown area that will impose a 1-mil tax on district property owners to generate money to market the area in addition to providing grants to businesses for facades and administration.
Businesses in the BID must also pay a surcharge on their business licenses.
