Deck Details Worked Out.
Rome and Floyd Co. leaders have settled on the details of the deal to develop a 380 space parking deck on the downtown side of the Oostanaula.
Final approval from the two governing bodies is expected to come at their first meetings in February.
Proposals from firms wanting to oversee the deck, the town green and riverfront plaza are supposed to be submitted to Floyd Co. next week. The new deck deal calls for the Battey Partnership to get 30 free spaces in the deck in exchange for a small strip of land on their property that will be needed for the project.
The Battey group is planning an expansion of the Hawthorn Suites on the river and originally planned to be able to access more than 100 spaces in the first plans for a parking deck.
