Roman Honored For Actions In Bank Robbery.

Rome preacher Dirk Gaylor was honored at the Greater Rome Bank Friday morning for his role in the apprehension of a bank robber two weeks ago.

Gaylor heard a report on WRGA radio regarding the vehicle used in a hold up at the Shannon branch of the bank. He saw the vehicle and followe it into Bartow County.

The suspect got out of his car and fled into a wooded area, but Gaylor was right there and provided police with the exact locvation and the William Charles Rutledge was in custody within two hours.

Rutledge is also a suspect in a robbery at the Sun Trust Bank in Cedartown. The Bank, and WRGA radio gave Gaylor a plaque and other gifts.
