Polk County Swat Standoff Ends.
The hours long swat standoff near Aragon has come to an end according to officials with the Polk County Police department.
Officers with the Georgia State patrol Swat team were able to get 52 year old Jerry Couch out of the home just after 1am Thursday morning.
We have learned that one Polk County officer was injured in the standoff but, police have refused to discuss the nature of his injuries or how he was injured. We have confirmed with our sources that Captain Kenny Dodd with the Polk County PD was shot at in the incident but it is unsure if Dodd was the injured officer. Dodd’s car was supposedly struck several times by bullets From Couch’s weapon.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Polk County Police with their investigation. We have a call into the GBI and are awaiting a return call.
Police are also investigating a bank robbery in Polk County Wednesday morning as well, it is unclear and police would not say if the two incidents are related.
