Planning Commission Approves Rezoning Of Hwy 411 Property.

The Rome Floyd Planning Commission debated issues for four hours Thursday, but never got to proposed changes to the Unified Land Development Code or the proposed Rome River Overlay Ordinance.

The question now is whether or not the city will move forward with consideration of the ordinance during meetings later this month.

The planners did reject a proposed recycling transfer station on Shorter Industrial Blvd., but did narrowly approve proposed rezoning for property at 411 and Callier Springs Road, now the site of an Assembly of God Church.  Plans now call for the marketing of that property for future retail use.
