Chamber Chief Honored For 10 Years Of Service.
Rome’s business and industrial leaders surprised Chamber of Commerce chief Al Hodge with a 10th anniversary party at Coosa Valley Tech Monday night.
Rich Hammond, manager of the Bekaert Plant in Rome told the crowd, and Hodge, “I think he more than anybody has brought this community together in a very positive way” Eight of then previous ten board chairs were on hand to roast Hodge who deflected the accolades in a typical Hodge manner, referring to everyone in the room as part of the team that has made things happen in Rome and Floyd County.
Willis Potts, immediate past chair of the Chamber Board referred to Hodge’s youth as a Savannah newspaper boy saying “He was a great delivery boy then, he’s a great delivery boy now”
Hodge was clearly surprised by the occasion.
