Local Chamber “Stars” Turn Out For Campaign Kickoff.
The Stars were out Thursday as Rome Chamber of Commerce members rolled out the red carpet to officially kick off their annual membership drive with a party themed “A red carper premiere”.
Local Chamber Stars filled the ballroom of the Forrest Building and started what some called a pep rally of sorts.
After a few of the 18 membership teams swapped friendly jabs at each other, Chamber of Commerce Director of Economic Development Mike Pennington posed a challenge to Chamber teams. Pennington agreed to put on a tiara while wearing a bustier along with a short floofy skirt while singing “I’m a little teapot” if teams raised 100 thousand dollars in this years campaign. (I am sure we will all keep our fingers crossed)
This years campaign runs through the end of May.
