Lindale Busy Overnight For County Police.

51 year old Susan Lynelle Jones of a Grove Avenue address in Lindale was arrested Wednesday afternoon, charged with aggravated assault under Georgia’s Family Violence Act, as well cruelty to children, simple assault and several firearms charges.    Jones is alleged to have used a fireplace iron to strike a woman, and then allegedly fired a half dozen shots from a 22 caliber handgun at a second victim during an altercation at Jones home in Lindale.  Police says that Jones and the victims were involved in an argument over property.

Man Arrested In Lindale

A Rome man was arrested Wednesday on a variety of charges including new allegations of theft by taking.  20 year old Justin Ryan Potts of a Park Avenue address was charged with escape for fleeing the Rome Diversion Center where he had been sentenced on a burglary conviction in the Floyd Superior Court.  He supposedly left the center May 5th and never returned.  Wednesday, he was apprehended after allegedly taking an air compressor from a home on Grove Avenue.  The compressor was found underneath a home that was supposedly owned by a relative of the suspect.  Potts has been charged with escape, theft by taking, loitering or prowling and giving authorities a false name.
