Inmates Found Not Guilty Of Rape.

Jurors in the Floyd Superior Court returned not guilty verdicts Thursday for two men accused of assaulting an inmate at the Floyd County jail last year.

Melvin Rucker and Rusty Strickland were exonerated after less than an hours worth of deliberation by the jury Thursday.  Isaac Chaney had previously been found not guilty of participating in the same alleged assault.

Meanwhile, the victim of the alleged gang rape is moving forward with a federal civil suit against the Sheriff and Floyd County, claiming that jailers did not respond to the incident in an appropriate manner.
