Grand Jury Says No Evidence Of Rape In Battle Case.
Former Floyd County police detective Dallas Battle will NOT face criminal charges for a sexual contact woman who claimed that Battle raped her in February.
County Police Chief Bill Shiflett fired the 29 year veteran officer May 18th, saying the decision was based solely on facts that clearly demonstrated that Battle violated police department policy during the sexual encounter in late February.
The woman, who was a police informant, claimed that she had been raped by Battle and a representative from the Cobb County DA’s office presented a proposed rape indictment to the Grand Jury in Rome this morning.
The Grand Jury felt that there was no evidence of rape Battle had been on administrative leave for almost three months before he was terminated in May.

I agree…it’s great that it was decided that he did not rape this person, but what happens to him now? He has dedicated his life to working for the police department, and now all of a sudden he is jobless and his reputation has gone down the drain.
My prayers are with him!
It’s such a pity he had to end his long career in such a horrible way.
You feel sorry for Dallas? Do you have brain damage or something? He’s a dirty, crooked cop. Dallas, ol buddy, we love you :) My friends and I are sitting here laughing our butts off at the fact that you were brought down. Thank you Dallas! Everytime I read one of these articles I find myself laughing and smiling for hours!!!! You have truly made my year you silly S.O.B! Hey, maybe you can get a job as a rent a cop! I hear O.J. needs new body guards if you’re up for. You know this truly couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Dallas got EXACTLY what he deserved. You’d think he could have gotten his sexual favors a little easier without destroying the integrity of the honest policemen in Rome, GA. Thanks again Dallas! You have brought so much joy to our lives and laughter to our hearts! Merry Christmas Dallas!

I am glad that the truth came out in this case but his reputation has already been tarnished and he has lost his job with the dept. He should sue her for defamation of character.
