Regional Development Center Wants Floyd And Bartow Counties To Coordinate On Growth Mgmt. Plan With Dot.
The Coosa Valley Regional Development Center is recommending approval of the Highland Park development on the north side of US 411 just west of Cartersville.
The Regional Development Center is also recommending that Floyd and Bartow county coordinate with the DOT to implement a growth management plan for the Highway 411 corridor, in part because concerns that the only access to the 1100 acre project with 2000 residential units and 600,000 sq. ft of commercial space will come off 411.
A phase 1 archaeological survey of the site is being recommended as well and the Regional Development Center also expresses concern about the impact of run-off and erosion on the massive tract.
