Man Wanted On Local Warrants, Dies In Texas Jail.

The man believed responsible for an armed robbery at a Wal Mart in Acworth and an attempted hold up at the Target in Cartersville two days apart in April of this year has died in a Texas jail. His death is still under investigation.

Warrants for both Georgia incidents against 22 year old Marcus Nygel Elliott, of Acworth had been issued earlier this year. Elliott was wanted on at least five felony robbery warrants out of Cherokee County, Cobb County, Bartow County and Whitfield County in Georgia and on a federal escape warrant filed by the FBI’s field office in Atlanta.

He died in the Collin County jail in Plano Texas July 1st. Deputies discovered Elliott about 11 p.m. lying on his bunk with a thread tied around his neck.

Authorities in Plano say they do not believe the incident was a suicide.
