Rome Loses Jobs In June
Rome lost one hundred jobs in June, according to a report issued by the Department of Labor Thursday morning. Rome’s decline amounted to two tenths of one percent and it will almost assuredly result in an increase in the unemployment rate when the June numbers are released next Thursday.
In May, Rome’s jobless rate checked in at 4.3%; however, the June loss of jobs, coupled with an anticipated increase in the workforce, should result in an increase.
Statewide, the Department of Labor said that the unemployment rate was up six tenths of a percent from 4.1 to 4.7 % in June.
