Alleged Bank Robber Indicted By Feds.
The man who allegedly robbed the Greater Rome bank in Shannon in February has now been indicted for that hold up as well as the robbery of the SunTrust branch in Cedartown two weeks earlier.
William Charles Rutledge, also known as Bill Tankersly who lists a Rockmart address was charged by the federal grand jury with both robberies.
Rustledge was arrested after a local minister, Dirk Gaylor heard a report on local radio station WRGA about the Shannon robbery, saw the getaway vehicle and followed into eastern Floyd County where Rutledge abandoned his car and fled into a wooded area.
He was apprehended a short time later.
