Kingston Man Arrested For Campsite Robbery.
26 year old Jason Wright of Kingston has identified as the man police say allegedly robbery children who had been camping along Connesenna Creek outside of Kingston over the weekend.
Deputies said a man had approached the children’s campsite and introduced himself as a police officer. Wright is accused of forcing the children to their knees at gunpoint, Supposedly fired a handgun several times and struck hit the oldest boy in the head with a flashlight before leaving the scene with a shotgun and a cell phone. The boys ranged in age from 8 to 16.
Wright told investigators that one of the children had thrown something at his vehicle, causing damage. Sheriff Clark Millsap confirmed the existence of a dent on Wright’s vehicle.
The Sheriff said “ what he did compared to his vehicle being hit with a dirt clod is pretty substantial,” Wright has been charged with one count of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, one count of impersonating a police officer and four counts of first degree cruelty to children.
