Woman Shot 4 Times While Riding Motorcycle On Highway 411.
A Slackland, Alabama woman was driving her three wheeled motorcycle late Tuesday evening on Highway 411 in Cherokee County Alabama when a dark colored Chevrolet Jimmy pulled up beside her and fired several shots striking her four times.
The woman, identified as 47 year old Loretta Gilbert, was airlifted to Earlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Law enforcement officials said the victim was alert at the scene and giving them information.
Police say the driver of the suspect vehicle was an older white male with graying hair; reports indicate that the actual shooter could possibly have been a younger white male, with blonde hair.
Officials now say the dark Chevy Jimmy had a 31 County tag, which is the number for Etowah County Alabama.
Gilbert is listed in Fair condition at Earlanger as of Thursday morning.
