New Details In Wright-Davis Murder
Officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation conducted an autopsy on the body of 49-year-old Phyllis Wright-Davis, Monday, in hopes of finding additional information that could lead them to her killer.
Wright-Davis was killed at her home Saturday sometime before 2pm, and according to police, was discovered by her brother lying in her bed with blood around her body.
Additional details about Wright-Davis’ horrific death have come to light. Sources close to the investigation tell RomeNewswire.com that she was stabbed twice, once in the throat and again in the side, and she had most likely been dead less than 2 hours when found by her brother.
Sources also said that one working theory is that the victim may have known her killer. They say there was no sign of forced entry into the home and certain details about the murder lead them to believe the killer was no stranger.
Neighbors say Wright-Davis was one of the most kind-hearted people they have ever known. She was active in the local NAACP in addition to several other local organizations. By all accounts, they say Wright-Davis was loved by everyone.
She was married to her husband Ralph who was not home Saturday. Neighbors say, her husband traveled a lot with his job.
Police have been tight-lipped about whether they have a suspect, “we are working all leads” one officer said, “right now we have a lot of suspects”.
