Police Confirm Whitfield County Man Was Victim Of Truck Bomb

Authorities have now confirmed that a man was injured this morning when a truck bomb exploded in Whitfield County.

According to police, 27 year old James Brock Junior got inside his vehicle and attempted to start it when it exploded.

The explosion happened at 6:30am at the intersection of Highway 41 and George Brock Road. Paramedics airlifted Brock to Erlanger Medical Center.

His condition is unknown right now. Authorities do say Brock was targetted and the explosion did extensive damage to the truck. They also say Brock is a member of the Renegade Motorcycle club.

Early indications point to the incident being connected to a shooting that occured about 6 weeks ago in Forest Park Georgia. The victim’s father is in a Clayton County jail in connection to that incident.

Members of the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Bomb Squad units are on the scene along with other agencies both state and local. The crime scene remains closed while investigators gather evidence at the explosion site.
