Saltino Qualifies To Run For City Commission Seat
Tom Saltino qualified Thursday to run for a Ward 3 City Commission seat.
In a press release issued today, Saltino says “As a father and grandfather who raised my family in Rome, I want to make sure that our city is a safe community with strong family values. As a retired businessman, I want to use my experience to ensure that we have fiscal discipline and cut wasteful spending. And, as an active community and church member, I will work hard to be a Commissioner the people can trust and call in a time of need”.
Saltino went to college at West Georgia College and Georgia State University. He and his wife Emily have two children and two grandchildren, with another grandchild expected in April. A member of Georgia Right to Life, Saltino and his family are members of Rome’s First United Methodist Church.
Bill Collins and Kim Canada are seeking reelection while Ronnie Wallace has decided not to seek another term.
Former City School Board member Jim Greer along with Richard Ingram have already qualified.
The top three vote getters from the group will gain a seat.
