Polk County Police Investigate Armed Robbery

Polk County police are investigating armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store on Buchanan highway in Polk County around 8:24pm labor day.

According to police, a white male who was about 6’ tall and 160 pounds with a goatee, wearing a grey T-shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes entered the store and asked the cashier for change. When the cashier opened the drawer, the suspect grabbed the money out of the drawer and ran.

The clerk chased the suspect into the parking lot and witnessed the suspect getting into an older model brown Dodge truck and flee the scene but not before he hurled a rock at the truck and busted the passenger side window of the suspects vehicle.

The police report indicates the man was carrying a knife during the incident and that the robbery was most likely drug related.
