Floyd Shows Growth In Housing Market

Residential construction in Floyd County has grown by 7% over a six year span from July of 2000 to July of 2006.

The new Census report says that Floyd County added approximately 5400 units while Bartow County grew by 23.9%, Bartow adding more than 7000 new units. Gordon County was up by 18.2% or some 3200 units over the six year period of time. Polk County was up 10.7%, that translates to about 1600 new housing units. Chattooga County housing growth was a modest 2% or just a little more than 200 new homes.

The state of Georgia added a little more than 560,000 housing units over six years.

The new report has nothing to do with actual population numbers.
