9 Candidates Eying School Board Slot

The final field of candidates for a vacancy on the Rome Board of Education ended at nine Wednesday afternoon.

Sylvia Morgan, Millie Culp, Chris Wilson, Douglas Mather, Tyson Reed, Hal Storey, Richard Dixon, Giles Chapman and Bruce Jones have all entered the contest to win appointment for the remainder of a term being vacated by longtime vice chairman Jim Greer who is seeking a seat on the city commission.

The Board will look at the list of candidates in a special called meeting and then start interviewing candidates as early as next week.
