2 Killed In Head On Collision

A two car accident has claimed the lives of two Bartow County residents early Sunday morning on Highway 293 in Floyd County.

According to Floyd County police, the vehicles were headed in opposite directions on Highway 293 near Canard road just after 5:30am when they struck head on. Police say one of the drivers appeared to be driving in the wrong lane and neither appeared to have applied any brakes.

Both drivers, 66 year old Christine Agnes Johnson of Rome, and 27 year old Gregory Allen Repman of Kingston, were killed instantly in the crash.

Highway 293 was completely blocked until around 8am.
