Wreck Sends Man To Hospital, Then Jail, Charged With DUI

A single car accident in Lindale has sent one Silver Creek man to Floyd Medical Center and then on to the Floyd County jail Wednesday morning around 9:30am.

James Holt, who officers said was in his mid 20’s was driving south on Old Cedartown Road when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a ditch, jumped a culvert and continued on into a pasture. Without letting off of the gas, Holt took a right and passed through a homes front yard and sped into the back pasture of the house. Residents say he then did a doughnut and became stuck on a hump after his front wheel broke.

Residents said Holt was out of the vehicle rubbing his head when he heard police sirens. They say he then quickly lay on the ground and told police when they arrived that he was hurt and could not move.

Holt was taken to Floyd Medical and police say he will then be taken to the Floyd County jail. Police have charged him with driving with no insurance, too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane and DUI.
