Burn Ban Lifted, Dry Conditions Continue

The statewide burn ban was officially lifted yesterday however residents in Rome, Cartersville, Calhoun, Summerville or Cedartown may yet have trouble getting permits to burn brush and other organic debris, given the ongoing drought conditions across the region. Law now requires residents to call 1-877-652-2876 or visit www.gatrees.org each day to obtain a permit before burning. If you think you need to conduct a burn of any variety, contacting your community’s fire department or the Georgia Forestry Commission.
