Bartow County Authorities Arrest Rome Exterminator For Thefts In Homes He Serviced
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have arrested a Rome, Georgia man in connection with several thefts in Bartow County.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, investigators arrested Cody Vann Ball, 24, on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.
Deputies were called to a report of a theft on October 5, 2007 at 584 Macedonia Road. According to the victims, $40 cash and a small quantity of prescription medications were taken from the residence. No forced entry was found. On October 13, 2007, the resident of 120 Mountainview Drive called to report that a theft of $1400 and prescription medications had occurred. Again, no forced entry was found. Investigators learned that the same exterminator technician had serviced both homes during the incident times. On Tuesday October 16, 2007, investigators determined that Ball had been the technician working at the homes and he later admitted to committing the thefts.
Investigators have determined that Ball may have committed more thefts and have notified other area law enforcement agencies. Ball is currently being held at the Bartow County Jail charged with two counts of Theft by Taking.
