Broad Street Merchants Host Trick Or Treaters

Trick or treaters (and some pets, see above) once again lined the streets of Downtown Rome, going door to door in hopes of
landing lots of good candy Wednesday evening.
Roman Gwen Jordan who brought her son Hayden downtown both last Saturday and Wednesday night said she enjoys being able to take him trick or treating and not have to worry about going into the neighborhoods.
Jordan said, there were “many more people downtown Saturday”. Her son Hayden quickly added, “yeah but more candy today”.
Downtown merchants hope to resolve the rift that has broken out the last couple of years as to which day to hold the annual trick or treat on Broad. One Merchant who did not want to be identified told us that she would prefer doing it on Saturday because it brings so many more people downtown. Either way, she added, I think we (the merchants) all agree we don’t need to do it twice.
