Floyd County PD Honored For Recertification

By RomeNewswire • on November 14, 2007

Former Rome Police Major Mike Jones was on hand for Tuesday’s Floyd County Commission.

Jones, who is currently Suwanee’s Police Chief, was representing the Georgia Police Chiefs Association. He presented Certification Awards to the Floyd County Police Department which has recently been recertified.

Chief Jones says the Department had to meet 115 standards in order to be recertified.

He says only about 90 agencies in Georgia have received certification. This is the second time the Floyd County Police Department has been recertified.
