Alcohol Baned At 12 Restaurants December 5th-8th
After several failed attempts to shorten, or delay suspensions at a dozen restaurants for selling alcohol to minors, the Rome city commission voted 5-3 last night to suspend pouring at the 12 shops this Wednesday through Saturday nights, Dec 5 - 8th.
Commissioner Norm Skidmore, voted against the 4 day suspensions along with Bill Fricks and Anne Rigas.
The commission also okayed a $27,000 contract for a housing needs survey that will be conducted city-wide.
In other business, City Manager John Bennett reported that soil borings on W. 3rd Street appear to prove no obstacle for a proposed mixed use development on that site
