Three Car Accident On Rockmart Highway Blocks Traffic
An accident on Highway 101 near spur 101 completely blocked traffic for about 30 minutes Sunday around 5pm.
Rome/Floyd Fire, Police and EMS responded to the scene where three vehicles collided, heavily damaging one and slightly damaging two others.
One person was checked out at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
Traffic was flowing normally just before 6pm.
Traffic was not blocked by the accident, which was minor and all on the shoulder and one travel lane. Traffic was blocked by a lone Floyd PD officer. All other responders parked properly for such a minor accident. Being a responder for 29 years and still going, its time area agencies consider better hwy incident management for not only responder safety but the growing problems of secondary accidents, trveling public safety and traffic relief.
