Garmon Case Turned Over To Federal Authorities

GBI officials have confirmed findings in the case against Capt. Bren Garmon, former Bartow County Narcotics Captain, have been sent to federal authorities.

The case is still active, pending federal indictment on charges stemming from Garmon’s alleged theft of $80,000 from BCSO confiscated drug funds. Patrick Crosby, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, said he could neither confirm nor deny that the feds may now be running the investigation.

Garmon was arrested last Feb. 2, on one count of felony theft by taking after Bartow Sheriff Clark Millsap ordered an internal audit of confiscated drug funds.
