Bagby Selected Mayor, Reid Mayor Pro Tem

Wright Bagby was unanimously chosen to replace Ronnie Wallace as mayor of Rome last night and Duane Reid was chosen to serve as Mayor Pro –Tem.

In saluting former mayor Ronnie Wallace, Rome City Manager John Bennett said “We’ve not always agreed, but I can tell you we’ve never had an argument”.

The city commission rejected a west Rome man’s effort to replace a manufactured home that was destroyed in a storm several years ago, but did approve a rezoning on 1st Ave and another on Cedar Avenue.

In other commission business, a new building inspection fee schedule was also approved.
