Commissioners Hope For Good Turnout At DOT Meeting

By RomeNewswire • on February 5, 2008

City Commissioner Buzz Wachstster is hoping for a good turnout at a meeting in Cartersville a week from today to unveil the latest plans for the 411 connector to I-75. He said that the Rollins family, which blocked the project over a decade ago, will probably try another court blockade.

Rome has attracted more than $4.8 million in grant or loan money for redevelopment in the downtown Rome area. That has led to another $15 million in private investments in the city’s central district.

The city sent a Land Development Code issue affecting personal care homes back to the planning commission for refinement, and approved a change affecting buffers in certain zoning districts.
