DNR Honors Adairsville Ranger
Ranger First Class Byron Young, a graduate of Adairsville High and Shorter College has been tapped as the 2008 Georgia Boating Officer of the Year.
Col. Terry West said “RFC Young performed exceptionally well in all areas of boating safety in 2007,
‘I commend Young for his efforts to go the extra mile to protect and educate Georgia’s ever-increasing boating public” West said.
Young also played a major role in the acquisition of sidescan sonar for the DNR’s use as a result of a drowning incident this past year.
