Rome PD To Conduct Citizens Police Academy

The Rome Police Department will be conducting the annual Citizens Police Academy starting Thursday, April 3, 2008. This eight-week program will be held one night per week from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Areas of study for the Citizens Police Academy include: The COP Program, Patrol Operations, Traffic Enforcement, Juvenile Offenders, Internal Affairs, Defensive Tactics, SWAT, Firearms, Criminal & Drug Investigations, Crimes Against Children, DUI, and K-9 Usage. During the course the participant will be involved in a ride-along with officers on the street.

Anyone interested in the program should obtain the application from the Records Section of the Rome Police Department, 5 Government Plaza, or the Joe Cleveland Training Center, 2626 Callier Springs Road.
