Floyd Under Tornado Watch; Damage Reported

A severe storm that prompted many warnings throughout NE Alabama crossed into Georgia via Cave Spring early Friday evening.
The storm which spawned a tornado west of Centre, AL moved into Floyd County shortly before 6:00 PM. Around this time, a Cave Spring Police Officer reported a funnel cloud in the area of Buttermilk Rd. near the stateline.
Reports of rotation in the clouds were sighted through Cave Spring all the way to Six Mile (Intersection of Cedartown Hwy. and Cave Spring Rd.).
Reports of trees down on Spout Springs Rd. and Melson Rd. both near Cave Spring were reported to thier fire station.
