1 Injured; 1 Arrested in Armed Robbery

One man was transported to Floyd Medical Center and another arrested after an armed robbery Saturday afternoon at the Callier Forrest Apartments.
Rome Police units were originally dispatched at 3:20 PM to the apartments at 131 Dodd Blvd. along with EMS. According to Rome Police PFC Chase Burns and PFC Matt Fowler, the two victims were walking a trail from the apartments to the BP Gas Station on Hwy 411 at Chulio Rd. Two suspects then jumped out and struck one victim over the head with a tree limb. The robbers stole a small amount of cash from the victims who then returned to the apartments to report the crime. Police were led to the F-Building a short time later where they found one of the suspects changing his shirt. The uninjured victim then was able to positively ID that suspect.
The injured victim was transported by Floyd EMS with head injuries. The second suspect is still at large.
