Chattooga Judge Carlton Vines Sentenced By Floyd County Judge Robert Walthers
(From Sumemrville News) Chattooga County’s State Court Judge Carlton Vines plead guilty this morning to one count of driving under the influence (DUI) of intoxicants.
Floyd County Judge Robert G. Walthers sentenced Judge Vines to 12 months probation, confined to his home for 30 days, 72-hours in the county jail, 240 hours of community service a $1,500 fine and must take a alcohol and drug assessment counseling, according to court records.
“(Judge Vines) shall be required to wear an ankle monitor at his expense for 30 days upon release from jail and shall be confined to his home except for trips necessary for treatment. (Vines) must comply with an Interlock device if he drives” Judge Walthers ruled.
The other three charges, weaving, violation of the open container law and leaving the scene of an accident, were dropped.
This makes the second time Vines has been arrested for DUI. This last incident occurred in Nov. 2007.
