Police Return Wayward Cattle Home

By RNW Reporter Hayden Jennings

Several Rome Police Officers had a temporary career change Early Sunday Morning: Cowboy

Several Rome Police Officers responded to a call just after 8:00 AM of a cow in the middle of Kingston Highway just past the Fairgrounds. Police initially encountered this cow in front of the Village Apartments. It was soon apparent though that this was not a single cow incident.

Residents on Church St. behind the fairgrounds called 911 after spotting 4-5 more cows heading down that street. Police were able to herd all the cows together and in a small cattle drive, return them to their home, a farm located at the intersection of Kingston Ave. and Kingston Highway.

The cattle were returned home and turned over to someone on the property.
