Annual Football Combine Set For This Saturday
Advance Rehabilitation’s annual football combine competition for high school athletes is set for Saturday, April 26 at Darlington School from 9 am until 2 pm.
This year over 35 high schools form Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama have been invited to participate in this popular event. “We are expecting a record turnout this year, with the top area athletes in attendance.” stated Rick Nelson, director of sports medicine at Advance Rehabilitation. “This marks our 8th year hosting this event and we have actually expanded to another state, with a team from North Carolina attending this Saturday.”
The athletes will be tested on numerous areas including: 40-yard dash (electronic), 10-yard dash (electronic), 185 lb bench press max repetition, standing long jump, pro agility, 4 – square, seated shot-put and vertical jump. Trophies will be awarder to the 1st – 3rd place team scores, top overall individual, and top individuals for each event. A number of college scouts have been invited to attend this year’s event.
