Marglen Announces 6 Million Dollar Expansion, Creation Of 20 New Jobs
With the majority of announcements concerning jobs recently being job cuts and layoffs, one Floyd County business has announced a major expansion and the addition of 20 new jobs.
Marglen Industries announced Tuesday that they will be undergoing a 6 million dollar expansion and installation of new equipment.
John Burnes, President of Marglen Industries told Rome-Floyd Development Authority officials they expect to add a total of 20 new jobs at the facility.
Marglen Asked the Rome-Floyd Development Authority to approve a Tier 2 existing industry payment in lieu of taxes plan and the issuance of industrial revenue bonds through the Rome-Floyd County Development Authority to aid with the company’s addition.
Burnes said of the expansion, “we are diversifying our business model which will allow us to go into additional markets. “
Marglen officials expect the new equipment to be in place by the second quarter of 2009.
