Head On Collision Claims Life Of Bartow County Woman
A head on collision on Highway 140 near Bethel Baptist church has claimed the life of an Adairsville woman.
According to police, the driver of the Ford Focus, now identified as 43 year old Sheila Elaine Burnett of Adairsville, was traveling east on Highway 140 toward Adairsville, when she crossed the center line and struck a white van driven by Lonnie Plunkett of Paulding County.
According to officials, Burnett died at the scene.
Plunkett was taken to Floyd Medical Center.
Traffic was completely blocked on Highway 140 for nearly an hour.
