Wreck Snarls Traffic on US Hwy. 27 North

A late afternoon accident has snarled traffic on Martha Berry Highway on Saturday.

The initial reports came from Rome Fire Engine 8 who had been advised of the wreck and began response. The wreck occurred around 4:20 PM at Martha Berry Highway at Depot St. in front of New Armuchee Baptists Church.

The wreck caused major traffic problems that heeded Fire units to request both the Floyd County Police and Georgia State Patrol for help directing traffic.

It is unclear as to the extent of injuries, though Rome Fire Rescue 1;s response was cancelled by Redmond EMS on the scene.
