Victim Extricated From Vehicle After US 411 Wreck

An early evening wreck on US 411 East injured two people and left one trapped in the vehicle.

The wreck occurred just before 8:30 PM Monday at Hwy. 411 at Chulio Rd.

An off-duty Rome Police officer was first on the scene and advised there was a possible entrapment. EMS And Fire Units arrived shortly after and were able to extricate the victim within 10 minutes.

Two victims were transported to Floyd Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries. The driver of the her Chrysler Concorde, identified as 56 year old Cleo Mooring of Rome was turning North on US 411 when she was struck by a Ford Taurus driven 39 year old Catrina Branton of Rome.

Police said Branton will be cited for running a red light.

The intersection was partially blocked during the investigation and clean-up.
