Tornado Watch Issued Until 7pm
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for 11 counties in northwest Georiga.
The watch for Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Polk, Walker and Whitfield is in effect until 7 p.m.
This includes the cities of Bremen, Calhoun, Cartersville, Cedartown, Chatsworth, Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe, Rome, Summerville, Thomaston And Trenton.
Thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, some strong early, mainly cloudy overnight with a few showers. Storms may produce large hail and strong winds. Low 62F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
