Rome Nets $400,000 for Contaminated Sites

Rome received money from the EPA to identify areas that need environmental remediation. There is a chance for additional funding if more sites are identified.

Russ Wright, the Deputy Regional Administrator in the southeast said the city of Rome will use half of the $400,00 to explore sites like the O’Neil Manufacturing off North Broad and the old Spears site on E. 12th Street, while the other half will be used to identify petroleum based sites that need to be remediated.
