By RomeNewswire • on June 9, 2008

Floyd County Commissioner Garry Fricks was arrested on Friday in Gordon County and charged with driving on a suspended license, no Insurance and alteration of a license plate.

Officials in Gordon County said that Fricks license plate did not belong to the vehicle he was driving.

According to the police report, Fricks was pulled over for speeding 50mph in a 35mph zone.

When the officer asked for his license, Fricks attempted to give him his Floyd County government ID card. The officer ran Fricks name and date of birth and his license came back as being suspended since 2001.

The report also stated that the tag on Fricks vehicle was registered to a blue Yukon, not the white Dodge truck that Fricks was driving.

Fricks was arrested by Calhoun PD and booked into the Gordon County jail on Friday. He was released on bond that same day.
