Fire Engine Rolls Up On Overturned Vehicle
By RNW Reporter Hayden Jennings
Rome Fire Units responding to a false fire alarm came upon an overturned vehicle early Friday Morning .
Rome Fire Engine 2 and Quint 3 were dispatched to a fire alarm at Kellogg’s on Old Lindale Rd. around 2:15 AM. During their response, they learned security guards there had advised that it was a false alarm. This led Quint 3, the secondary unit, to monitor while returning to their quarters. As Quint 3 was about to exit US Hwy. 27 South, they came upon a vehicle that had just flipped in the median at the Maple St. Exit.
A quick evaluation found that the female driver was still in the upside down car and was complaining of a shoulder injury.
The wreck prompted an additional response by Rome Police, Rescue 1, and Floyd EmS who transported the victim with minor injuries.
