Missing Pooch Captures The Hearts of Romans (Updated)
By RNW Reporter Hayden Jennings
While many posts on our sister site, Romewired.com, may discuss issues pertaining to government, public safety, and many other topics, a recent discussion has banded Romans together as they tracked and successfully found a cute little pooch named Asa.
Asa is a 2 year-old female Jack Russell Terrier Mix. According to sources, Asa went missing at a friends house on Friday June 13th ater a storm moved through Rome and scared her into running away. Asa went missing in the area of Morgan Dr. in Garden Lakes, which prompted the family to post fliers throughout the area and eventually post the topic on Romewired.com
The fliers led to progress Monday, as two people have reported sightings of the little dog. The first sighting was when a lady spotted her in the same area of Morgan Dr. late Friday evening. Then Monday, a flier recipient spotted her at the Old GE Plant on Redmond Crircle. They pulled over and began to call her and she came, but ran when she realized they were strangers.
Even as early as 7:00 AM Tuesday, she was spotted on Lakeridge Dr. in the neighborhood behind the Garden Lakes BP Station.
As sightings continued, a search was mounted early Wednesday morning. While searchers continued, one of the Romewired members sighted the dog and tipped them off. As of this morning, Asa has been successfully caught and is back home with her family. Initial reports state she was found on Hilltop Dr. in Garden Lakes
The story has caught the hearts of many readers and residents of Garden Lakes, who are now rejoicing after bringing little Asa home.
