Abandoned House Burns in Armuchee

An early Sunday morning fire burned an abandoned house up on Floyd Springs Rd.

Firefighters from Rome Fire Engine 8, Engine 9, and Car 25 initially responded around 2:40 AM to the boarded-up house in the 700 block of Floyd Springs Rd. Firefighters along with an off-duty County Police Officer arrived a short time later to find the structure fully involved.

Firefighters were on the scene well into the early morning hours dousing the hot spots. A representative from the Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
